In particular, 46% said their employers have been supportive, while 44% said their employers have been very supportive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cisco.com\/c\/m\/en_us\/solutions\/global-hybrid-work-study.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Cisco<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Malaysian_get_used_to_the_long-term_WFH_and_enjoy_its_benefits\"><\/span>Malaysian get used to the long-term WFH and enjoy its benefits<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.undp.org\/malaysia\/publications\/making-flexible-work-work-towards-better-and-more-inclusive-work-life-practices\" rel=\"nofollow\">A 2021 report<\/a> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.undp.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.talentcorp.com.my\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp)<\/a> found that<strong> 80% of Malaysian employees prefer WFH (Work-from-home) weekly<\/strong>, with <strong>almost half <\/strong>preferring to do so<strong> at least three days a week.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data shows that rigid return-to-office policies negatively impact employees with anxiety and work-related stress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.undp.org\/malaysia\/publications\/making-flexible-work-work-towards-better-and-more-inclusive-work-life-practices\" rel=\"nofollow\">UNDP<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Malaysian_Government_support_hybrid_working\"><\/span>Malaysian Government support hybrid working<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Malaysian Government announced that employees can apply for <a href=\"https:\/\/nhrc.com.my\/resource-centre\/flexible-work-arrangement\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Flexible Work Arrangements<\/a> (FWA) with their employers under the amendment to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/dyn\/natlex\/docs\/WEBTEXT\/48055\/66265\/E55mys01.htm\" rel=\"nofollow\">Employment Act 1955<\/a>, which will come into force on <strong>September 1, 2022<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It reflects that the Malaysian Government agreed that flexible work is very important to employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Redesign_office_space_for_hybrid_work\"><\/span>Redesign office space for hybrid work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To prepare for implementing hybrid work, <strong>business leaders (62%) in Malaysia are considering redesigning office space for hybrid work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/worklab\/work-trend-index\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Microsoft<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ones.software\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"571\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-29-1024x571.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2850\" srcset=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-29-1024x571.png 1024w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-29-300x167.png 300w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-29-768x428.png 768w, \/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-29.png 1101w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">ONES &#8211; All-in-one smart office system<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Emerging_hybrid_working_trends_in_Malaysia\"><\/span>Emerging hybrid working trends in Malaysia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Flexible_work_is_here_to_stay_in_Malaysia\"><\/span>Flexible work is here to stay in Malaysia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/worklab\/work-trend-index\/hybrid-work\" rel=\"nofollow\">a survey by Microsoft<\/a>, <strong>77 % of workers in Malaysia<\/strong> surveyed want flexible remote work options to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although people working remotely can save daily expenses, <strong>42% of Malaysian employees <\/strong>said that they lack essential office supplies at home, and one in 10 don\u2019t have an adequate internet connection to do their job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, over <strong>46% say their employer <\/strong>does not help them with remote work expenses.
